Vintage Fashion

Look into the pages of the most recent issue of a noticeable style magazine and you are sure to discover it. Look online at the countless celebrity blog sites and you will be sure to discover it. Check out your neighborhood consignment clothes store and you are absolutely sure to find it.

What is this "it?" The "it" is vintage fashion and it persists to be popular in fashion circles time after time. The definitely of vintage, or retro clothing, depends upon the individual covering or sporting the items from years gone by. But one point in style is self-evident: fashion comes and goes in patterns and what was in fashion when you were younger will most more than likely be considered vintage style when you are older and have young ones of your own.

For a number of years, vintage fashion boasted artifacts from the 1960's: skirts and knee high boots. Then it was the 1970's vintage styles of afro hair styles and bell bottom pants along with wedge heels and flowing disco tops. Now, look on the pages of style monthlies or blog posts and the newest fashion artifacts are considered styles from not that past: the 1980's. Slouch socks, neon prints, tons of jewelry, big hair and make up are getting back in to style in phases and it is amusing to see style writers explain how this is now vintage style. Men and women who were born in the 1980's are still in their twenties: hardly artifact-type people!

But people have had to deal with fashions coming back in and out since the beginning of apparel. Men and women have always been concerned with being the best clothed and as time passed, ideas for fashion started to subside and styles and ideas were reproduced hence the continued marketability of vintage fashion.

The best way to approach fashion is to combine vintage pieces with other pieces that are not considered to be artifacts. Merging the old and the new will present to others that you are a style forward type of person who is able to confidently mix up fashions without looking excessively made-up or ludicrous.

Fashions will continue to come in and out of style as long as there are fashion designers and people there to cover and purchase the clothing. We will not get away from fashion, particularly vintage type fashions, so we might as well embrace it and wear it happily.

You will not be taken into account an artifact if you do indeed adopt retro or vintage fashions. Instead, you will be looked at as a style forward individual who is persistently looking for new ways to nudge the fashion envelope. Wear the clothes correct and you may be thought the latest "it" person on the covers of the periodicals and soon be treading the runways of Paris and Milan.

Okay, not really, but it is fun to fantasize, correct? And vintage style can assist you escape to a time where life was uncomplicated. So travel back in time and look good doing it with vintage fashion trends.
